South Korea's National Assembly is holding a confirmation hearing on Monday for Yoon Seok-yeol President Moon Jae-in's pick for prosecutor-general.
Rival parties are expected to clash as they screen Yoon's credentials and qualifications.
Key issues will likely include his alleged meddling in a bribery case involving a former tax agency official,... as well as a suspected fraud case surrounding his mother-in-law.
Yoon's views on prosecutorial reform will also be under the microscope.
Although the position requires a confirmation hearing,... it doesn't require parliamentary approval.
Yoon currently heads up the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.
He has investigated high-profile cases,... including the power abuse scandal involving ousted former president, Park Geun-hye.
