Cabinet endorses prosecutor-general nominee Yoon Seok-yeol

The nomination of Yoon Seok-yeol as South Korea's new prosecutor-general has been endorsed by Cabinet this morning.
Yoon was named by President Moon Jae-in on Monday to replace Moon Moo-il who retires next month.
The nomination was passed during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon,... as required by the Constitution.
After it receives the president's approval,... the nomination will be sent to the National Assembly.
Yoon will have to go undergo a parliamentary hearing,... but the president can appoint him even without the assembly's approval.
The hearing has to be complete within 20 days after the request is sent.
However, lawmakers can use an additional ten days if they require more time.
