Seoul City to erect 400 tree shade canopies by 2022

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will erect four-hundred tree shade canopies near crosswalks and on traffic islands by 2022 to protect people against the scorching summer sun.
It says it will plant over six-hundred trees and install benches,... investing 335-thousand U.S. dollars annually for the next three years.
By the end of this year,... the city government plans to finish 113 tree shade canopies.
As well as providing pedestrians with some relief from the summer heat, the move is also expected to improve air quality in the capital.
