Seoul's foreign ministry has decided to file a criminal charge against a senior diplomat at the Korean embassy in Washington... who leaked the content of a recent phone conversation between President Moon and President Trump.
The ministry said Tuesday that its decision was based on the severity of the issue.
In addition to the charge of leaking classified information, he and two others from the embassy who failed to keep the information secret will be subject to a disciplinary hearing on Thursday.
The official responsible for the leak says it was unintentional, and that reports are making false accusations that he did it to help the opposition lawmaker who received the information.
