The government plans to focus on fostering the industries of non-memory semiconductors, bio, and future cars.
A Blue House official told Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency on Monday... that these fields are expected to lead the Moon administration's innovative growth plan... because South Korea is competitive in them... and they also have the potential to create new jobs.
The official said this is part of efforts to nurture a "first mover" local company that's a global leader.
It's also in line with the government's aim of making Korea a "pioneer" economy rather than one that chases after others.
