The grace period for companies in South Korea violating the 52-hour work week is now over.
According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor,... companies that have 300 or more employees will be penalized if workers are found to have worked more than 52 hours in a given week.
Since the regulation was first introduced in July,... out of 392 companies inspected,... 20-percent were to have been violating the regulation.
Companies that have difficulty shortening their working hours due to the current flexible work system,... will be exempt from penalties until the implementation of the Flexible Work Expansion Act.
