Average of 400,000 premature deaths occur annually due to air pollution in Europe: EEA
  • 5 years ago
The European Environment Agency says around 400 thousand people die in a year earlier than their life expectancy age due to air pollution.
Over the last 30 years, the quality of the atmosphere has improved but the poor continue to be vulnerable to air pollution as most of them live in areas near industrial sites or main roads.
The director of EEA said that to solve such problem, people need to take the term "environmental justice" seriously and avoid using coal, old cars, and burning trees, the three major reasons that worsen air pollution in Europe.
