SK hynix to build chip complex in Yongin

South Korean chipmaker SK hynix has been been given the greenlight to build a huge factory cluster outside of Seoul.
The government approved the plan on Wednesday, saying it will help Korean chipmakers keep their competitive edge.
The cluster will cover an area of nearly two and a half square kilometers in the city of Yongin, about 50 kilometers south of the capital.
SK hynix aims to complete the project by the year 2021.
The government estimates it will create about 17-thousand new jobs and bring added value of roughly 170 billion U.S. dollars.
