SK hynix to build chip complex in Yongin

South Korean chipmaker SK hynix has been approved by the government to build a huge factory cluster outside of Seoul.
The government announced the approval on Wednesday... saying it'll help Korean chipmakers keep their competitive edge.
The cluster will cover an area of roughly 2-point-3 square kilometers -- the size of more than 300 soccer fields.
SK hynix will break ground on the complex by 2021 in the city of Yongin, about 50 kilometers south of the capital.
The government estimates it'll create about 17 thousand new jobs and bring added value of roughly 170 billion U.S. dollars.
