Human rights organizations and relatives of South Koreans who were kidnapped by North Korea after a plane hijacking in 1969 have urged the regime to release the abductees.
Representing the Korean Air Flight YS-11 Families Committee at the United Nations Office at Geneva...., Hwang In-cheol said,.... that he was only two years old when North Korea hijacked the airplane... kidnapping his father.
Strongly urging Pyeongyang to release the 11 South Koreans still being held,... Hwang added that North Korea has not given him any information related to his father.
North Korea released 39 passengers in 1970, a year after the hijacking,... but the remaining 11 South Koreans including the crew members... are yet to return home.
