The leaders of Russia, Turkey and Iran say they see the planned U.S. withdrawal from Syria as a positive step in stabilizing the region.
Russian President Vladimir Putin made the remark after a summit with his Turkish and Iranian counterparts on Thursday in Sochi.
The three were meeting to discuss ways on how to cooperate in Syria.
They also agreed that the Syrian government must take over the regions where American troops are currently deployed.
They also vowed to help Syria establish a committee to carry out constitutional reforms in the country.
