Turkey has agreed to a ceasefire in Syria - and military action will stop entirely once Kurdish forces leave part of northern Syria.
U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Turkish President Recip Tayyip Erodgan in Ankara on Thursday,... after which Pence said there will be a pause in military operations for five days.
The United States say the ceasefire is required before they can start rectifying the situation.

Connyoung, the U.S. and Turkey have agreed to a ceasefire in northeast Syria to allow for the withdrawal of Kurdish forces.
U.S. Vice President Mike Pence revealed the news after more than 4 hours of talks at the Turkish presidential palace in Ankara.
"It will be a pause in military operations for 120 hours while the United States facilitates the withdrawal of YPG from the affected areas in the safe zone."
He further noted that Turkey's Operation Peace Spring will be halted entirely on the completion of the withdrawal and that Washington and Ankara have "mutually committed to a peaceful resolution and future for the safe zone."
Pence and Pompeo flew to Turkey on Wednesday local time to call for a halt to Turkey's corss-border military operation.
On October 9th, Turkish troops entered the area "east of the Euphrates," targeting a Kurdish-led military alliance.
