Ambaji Shakti Peeth Tirtha (popularly known as Ambika or Ambaji Devsthan) is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas that stands atop Gabbar hill.

It is situated in the town of Arasur in the northern Gujarat and is considered as the cultural heritage in the state.

Inscriptions dating back to the 16th century are found in this ancient temple. As mentioned in the Puranas, the heart of Sati is believed to have fallen here.

Goddess Amba or Ambe Ma, in this temple, is believed to be in her complete invoked form. The fascinating fact is that there is no image or idol of Goddess Amba in this Shakti Peetha.

Instead, the Shri Viso Yantra (a triangular Yantra) is worshiped as the main deity which is installed in the Gokh (a sacred niche in the inner sanctum).

The worship of this Yantra is only performed after tying a bandage on the eyes. After that, the Gokh is decorated in a way that it appears like an idol of the goddess from a distance.

A Parikrama Marg is developed by the temple community that circulates the Gabbar hill.

The main attraction of the temple is the replicas of the original 51 Shakti Peeth temples constructed on along this path.

The entrance of the temple is decorated with artistically carved pillars. The constant chant of the Goddess Ambe’s name adds up to the peaceful aura in the temple.

A large number of devotees are seen visiting the Ambaji temple, especially on the Purnima days and during Sharad Navrata Mela.
