1 Shanti Mantras are identified as the Hindu prayers for Peace and Harmony. These Vedic hymns are found in the ancient Sanskrit scriptures, mainly the Upanishads.



2 These selfless prayers were invoked at the start of any main topic and are still recited at the opening or end of religious discourses and rituals.



3 Sarvesham Mantra is regarded as a universal prayer which invokes the Supreme God for the well being, peace, fulfilment, auspiciousness of not oneself but all beings.



4 This Sanskrit prayer is one of the most renounced Shanti Mantras and is believed to be originated from the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad.



5 The wordings of this Sanskrit prayer are;

|| Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramayah, Sarve Bhadraani Pashyantu,

Ma Kaschit Duhkha Bhaag Bhavet | Om Shantih Shantih Shantih ||2||



6 The meaning of these verses is clear enough stating that;

“Let everyone be healthy, May there be peace in all, May there be completeness for all,

May prosperity (spiritual success) be next to everyone.” ||1||

“May there be happiness in all, May all be healthy and free from weakness, May all behold what is auspicious,

May all experience that which is good, and let no one suffer.”||2||



7 Another pleasant Sanskrit Mantra that is globally acclaimed for the similar reasons is;

|| Om Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu |Om Shantih Shantih Shantih ||



8 The meaning of this Mantra is;

“May all beings live in happiness, free of suffering and in divine union”.
