The government has laid out its vision of ensuring South Korea becomes a top global producer of hydrogen cars and fuel cells in the near future.
At a meeting on innovation held in Seoul on Wednesday, Minister of Economy and Finance Hong Nam-ki said the government plans to expand the production of hydrogen vehicles to around 80-thousand units by 2022... from the previous target of 20-thousand.
He said there are also plans to nurture experts in the field of artificial intelligence and Big Data by creating an AI cluster that'll help entities that provide AI-based services.
To do that, the minister said the government will come up with a mid-to-long-term roadmap that extends through 2030... to strategically invest in key industrial sectors.
