Defense Minister Jeong visits Ahk and Cheonghae units in UAE

Seoul's Defense Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo inspected South Korean troops stationed in the region as part of the Ahk and Cheonghae units during his visit to the UAE on Friday.
At a shipboard reception to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Cheonghae unit's deployment,... Minister Jeong said the naval unit has served as a guardian in the Gulf of Aden... in carrying out anti-piracy missions since 2009.
Earlier, Jeong also visited the Ahk unit... which has long been one of the cornerstones of military cooperation between South Korea and the UAE.
The Ahk unit was dispatched in early 2011... to help train the UAE's special forces and conduct joint-military drills in the region.
