Coordination underway to decide on location for second N. Korea-U.S. summit: Seoul's FM
  • 5 years ago
The South Korean government believes a second North Korea-U.S. summit will happen at some point in the near future.
At a parliamentary meeting on Friday,... Seoul's foreign minister Kang Kyung-wha said..... North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's recent trip to China reflected Kim's desire to continue talks with Washington and keep his denuclearization promise.
Kang added.... it appears talks are underway between North Korea and the U.S. to settle on a location for the summit,... adding Seoul will also closely communicate with Washington on the matter.
As for the sanctions issue,... South Korea doesn't expect relief for the North anytime soon,... as there are views that the U.S. has gotten nothing in return in terms of substantial progess towards denuclearization.
