UN panel adopts resolution condemning North Korea's human rights abuses
  • 5 years ago
A UN committee has adopted a resolution calling for accountability for human rights violations in North Korea,... passing it by consensus without a vote.
The resolution is expected to pass the UN General Assembly next month for its 14th straight year.
It calls for condemnation of the regime's "long-standing and on-going" violations of humans rights.
It also called on the Security Council to consider further sanctions on those responsible,... an apparent reference to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
