Two Koreas begin joint waterway inspection on Hangang and Imjingang Rivers for peaceful use of estuaries

South and North Korea have begun a joint field survey on the peaceful use of river estuaries,... this Monday morning.
The inspection is part of September's comprehensive inter-Korean military agreement,.. where the two sides agreed to jointly use the Hangang and Imjingang river estuaries along the inter-Korean border region.
According to Seoul's defense ministry, the joint inspection team is made up of ten people from each side, including military and maritime officials, and civil waterway experts.
The defense ministry also said it plans to complete the field survey of the 70 kilometer-long zone by the end of this year.
Once complete,... nautical charts on the estuaries will be provided to allow private ships to use the estuaries.
