South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff has announced this year's annual command post drill,... the Taeguk Exercise,... will start its five-day schedule on Monday.
The annual exercise was originally planned to be held in June,... but the Joint Chiefs of Staff postponed it until now... as talks between North Korea and the U.S. were ongoing at the time.
The South Korean military added the Taeguk Exercise will be held in tandem with the Hoguk field training exercise to maintain military readiness and to raise the effectiveness of the drill.
The Hoguk exercise will be held for two weeks, also starting on Monday.
