Through August, Korea shed most jobs for 30s and 40s since financial crisis

The South Korean government has been working to boost job creation, but the latest employment figures look grim.
According to Statistics Korea, in the first eight months of this year, the number of people in their 30s and 40s who had jobs... fell by the most since the financial crisis in 2009.
There were around ten million people in that age group with jobs, down by 150-thousand compared to the same period last year.
The previous record, in 2009, was a loss of 240-thousand jobs.
Meanwhile, the number of senior citizens -- those 60 or older -- who are working... has been rising since 2004.
