South Korea's August job numbers are out... and it looks like the country saw the biggest number of jobs added last month in nearly two-and-a-half years.
Data released by Statistics Korea show a year-on-year increase of 452-thousand jobs in August, the biggest jump since March 2017.
This is the first monthly job increase of more than 300-thousand since January 2018.
The number of people unemployed fell by more than 270-thousand to less than 860-thousand people, making it the biggest monthly drop in more than eight years.
That brought the unemployment rate down one percentage point to three percent.
Statistics Korea attributed the size of the job growth to the fact so few jobs were created last August.
They were added in the services, health and welfare sectors.
