As cleanup efforts come underway following Typhoon Mangkhut's devastation in Hong Kong, locals in this northern district helped to clear a felled tree that had collapsed onto the road.

This video, filmed in Tai Po, New Territories, shows residents lifting part of a tree together and carrying it off to the side.

According to local media, more than 1,000 sections of road have been blocked off by trees or debris, causing major disruption to transport. Hundreds of buses have been cancelled or rerouted, with ferry services suspended.

Nearly 40,000 customers suffered blackouts and power when the storm struck, and school remained closed on Monday and Tuesday.
