U.S. President Donald Trump has signed proclamations allowing targeted relief from American steel quotas from some countries, including South Korea.
The U.S. Commerce Department said Wednesday that President Trump, who imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum imports in March, signed proclamations permitting relief from the quotas on steel from South Korea, Brazil and Argentina and on aluminum from Argentina.
It added that companies can apply for product exclusions based on insufficient quantity or quality available from American steel or aluminum producers...and a quota exclusion may be granted.
