South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics was ranked the world's third largest spender in terms of research and development last year.
According to global accounting firm Ernst & Young,.... Samsung spent more than 15 billion U.S. dollars on R&D projects in 2017.
The figure is expected to increase this year.... because Samsung revealed earlier this month.... that it spent more than seven-point-seven billion dollars on R&D in the first half of 2018.
Amazon ranked first at more than 23-point-two billion dollars last year.
Google's parent company, Alphabet followed with.... 17-point-one billion dollars.
Ernst & Young said,.... many companies are expanding their expenditure on R&D..... because of the ever-accelerating pace of technological development and to meet the changing demands.
