Family returns from Carr Fire to find fish alive thanks to some help

REDDING, CALIFORNIA — A family who was forced to evacuate because of the massive Carr Fire returned home to a fantastically fishy surprise.

The massive 190,000 acre blaze forced the family to leave their house without their family fish named Grant.

The father had let his daughter know that Grant probably wouldn't make it through due to lack of food.

But according to a Cal Fire tweet, "Both were in for quite a shock when they returned home to a well-fed fish!"

The Engine 1489 crew also left an attached note by Grant's fishbowl saying, "Fed your fish a few sprinkles. Sorry if we weren't supposed to."
The Corning Police Department also left a notation saying they fed Grant again on August 1 at 10:33 a.m.

The Carr Fire has already been raging for 3 weeks and destroyed 1,100 homes. Luckily, Grant's house wasn't one of them.
