Manufacturing production capacity falls at steepest rate in Q2

South Korea's capacity in manufacturing capacity fell in the second quarter by the steepest rate since 1971, when data was first compiled.
It was down 1-point-1 percent on-year.
The production capacity index measures maximum production capacity when labor, equipment and workhours are used in full.
It had increased every quarter until the fourth quarter last year when it fell for the first time, by one tenth of a percent.
It's continued to contract in the three consecutive quarters since then.
The index has fallen sharply in shipbuilding and autos in particular,... and semiconductor production capacity has started to slow down because of falling investment.
