S. Korea's top diplomat in Singapore for key regional forum
  • 6 years ago
South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha is in Singapore for the ASEAN Regional Forum,... and on the sidelines it's possible that she'll meet with her counterpart from North Korea.
Kang told reporters when she arrived, though, that no schedule has been set for that meeting.
Her week-long visit to Singapore will focus on South Korea's ties with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations... and the Korean peace process,... which includes declaring a formal end to the Korean War.
It's been eleven years since the foreign ministers of South and North have sat down for talks.
There's also the possibility of trilateral talks with the U.S. since Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be in Singapore at the same time.
