Syrian Government Forces Gain Control of Border Crossing to Golan Heights

Syrian government forces took control of the crossing in Quneitra, Syria, on the border with the Golan Heights on July 26.This footage from a pro-government news outlet shows scenes from multiple locations, including al-Hamidiya, a nearby town.The fence lining the demarcation line with the Golan Heights is visible in the footage as well as a hill in the Golan Heights. Palestinian and Syrian government flags were hung on a line near the crossing and flapped in the wind.Syrian government forces and their allies have now gained control of almost the entire territory in southwest Syria, with the exception of a small area still held by a militia allied with the Islamic State.
