North Korea urges South Korea to be proactive in declaring formal end to Korean War
  • 6 years ago
North Korea is pressing South Korea to be more proactive in declaring a formal end to the Korean War.
On Monday, Pyongyang's external propaganda websites -- Uriminzokkiri and Meari -- claimed the U.S. is refusing to work on ending the Korean War,... instead only making unilateral demands on the North's denuclearization.
They said the U.S. has this attitude because South Korea is not being proactive on ending the war.
The websites stressed that declaring an end to the Korean War is an important point stipulated in the April summit agreement and therefore, can't be delayed any further.
Responding to the posts,... the South Korean government said Seoul still aims to declare an end to the Korean War within this year and will work with North Korea and the U.S. to make it a reality.
