Sharp drop in employment for people in their 30s and 40s

New data suggest another setback in South Korea's struggle with unemployment.
The number of people with jobs in their 30s and 40s -- the primary work force -- has dropped sharply.
Statistics Korea said Sunday that among those in their 40s there were 88-thousand fewer people working in May than the same month last year,... and it's been falling for 31 months straight -- the longest decline on record.
For 30-somethings, there were 21-thousand fewer people working... for the 8th straight month of decline.
And overall, for people aged 15 to 64, the number of people working fell for a third month in a row,... the first time that's happened since the financial crisis in 2009.
But for older people, at least, in their 50s and 60s,... employment continues to rise compared to a year ago.
