Candidate registration opens for June 13 local elections

Candidate registration for the upcoming local elections and National Assembly by-elections is taking place over the next two days.
Dozens of would-be representatives have already registered for various local political positions including mayor, governor and educational superintendent.
Once their registration has been approved,... the candidates can start campaigning from May 31st, two weeks ahead of the elections on June 13th.
Until then, only limited campaign activity is allowed, such as handing out business cards, and setting up campaign headquarters.
