South Korean Navy launches 14,500-ton amphibious assault ship

The South Korean Navy has launched a new 14-and-a-half thousand ton amphibious assault ship called the Marado, named after the nation's southernmost island.
At the ceremony in Busan on Monday, South Korean Defense Minister Song Young-moo said the ship will contribute to maritime security in Northeast Asia and the world.
At almost 200 meters long, it can sail at a maximum speed of 23 knots or 41 kilometers an hour.
It will be officially delivered to the South Korean Navy in 2020... after undergoing trials.
