North Korea's not only the one that's trying to take an upper hand in the negotiation.
In fact, Washington's also trying to make sure Pyongyang denuclearizes this time.

Mike Pompeo has recently said that if Pyongyang completely denuclearizes, it would be able to achieve economic prosperity and the U.S. could bring capital to the regime.

Experts say that Washington actually touched upon something that North Korea wants -and maybe needs- the most.
"We've thought that North Korea's ultimate goal was to have nuclear weapons in order to guarantee its own survival, but that doesn't seem to be the case. What the regime wants is to form relations with other countries just like any normal state and achieve economic development. So to Kim Jong-un, prosperity -- though it could sound a little exaggerated -- is the ultimate goal."
