The UN Security Council's sanctions committee says,... the sanctions on North Korea serve a very clear political purpose-- to achieve full and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
Dutch Ambassador Karel van Oosterom( ) told reporters on Thursday,... that the sanctions are being implemented in a way that does not lead to negative humanitarian consequences.
He added.... the committee has worked with many countries on North Korea over recent sessions,.... which led to several accomplishments on humanitarian issues.
Earlier in August,... the Security Council made the unprecedented move of approving measures that allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to the country.
