Chinese State Councilor due in Seoul to brief officials on Beijing-Pyongyang summit

Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi will visit Seoul today to brief South Korean officials on the outcome of the summit talks between Beijing and Pyongyang.
Yang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of China's Communist Party, is visiting as a special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping and is expected to meet with President Moon's National Security Adviser, Chung Eui-yong this afternoon.
He will pay a visit to President Moon Jae-in on Friday.
Along with the details of the recent bilateral talks between President Xi and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Yang will also discuss the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and various other issues.
