Rain and snow lets up, cooler highs _ 030518

Good afternoon. Many regions are seeing early signs of spring, spring blooms are already sprouting in southern provinces while parts of Gangwon-do Province saw heavy snowfall overnight nearing 20 centimeters...with heavy snow advisories being issued in some parts.

The lingering rain and snow will let up as the afternoon goes on and most parts will even see some sunshine in the afternoon... but temperatures will be lower than Sunday... Seoul will see 9 degrees while Daegu, Busan and Jeju could see precipitation until the mid-afternoon.

This week, we will actually notice temperatures going down as the week goes on... dress accordingly.

With that, let's take a look at the international weather for viewers around the world.

While the nation got some much-needed heavy spring rain overnight, most parts in North Korea will be under mostly sunny skies along with cooler highs than the South.

As for the rest of Asia, those of you in Beijing will need to dress accordingly and be aware of wide gaps between the lows and highs.

Meanwhile, those of you in Sydney had a rainy start to the work week, keep an umbrella handy. It will rain until Tuesday.

Heading to North America, New York will have a few days to recover from Friday's "nor'easter" even as thousands of city residents remained without power on Sunday before another storm comes for the city.

As for South America, many major cities will have unstable weather conditions on Monday.
