President Trump on Tuesday night lauded his first “six or seven months” in the high office as the most successful in history, reports the New York Magazine.
During his rally in Phoenix, he told the crowd, “Washington is full of people who were only looking out for themselves. But I do not come to Washington for me. I have led a great life. I’ve had great success. I have enjoyed my life. Most people think I’m crazy to have done this. And I think they’re right.”
Trump continued, “But I enjoy it, because we've made so much. I don't believe that any president...has accomplished as much as this president in the first six or seven months. I really don't believe it."
In an early August analysis of the promises Trump made and how many he’s kept thus far, the BBC reports that the president’s key campaign agendas remain unresolved.
Illegal immigration-related resolutions such as building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and increasing deportations have yet to be realized. Health care reform, and repealing Obamacare in particular, has, despite a number of efforts, fallen flat.
According to the BBC, the economy is improving, but remains on the trajectory it was during the Obama administration.
