In a unique festival in Rajasthan’s Veer Teja Temple, devotees flock to get snakebites in order to good fortune. Hundreds of devotees from across the nation gather every year to celebrate the festival. Veer Teja is legendary folk hero in Tonk, Rajasthan. He is considered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva and worshipped as a deity in rural Rajasthan.

Devotees sing, dance with snakes, and get snakebites as a part of the ritual. They believe these bites will cure them of ailments and bring them good fortune.
