Dumb prom date proposal: teen spray-paints Idaho cliff in the Black Hills to get a date - TomoNews
  • 9 years ago
A high school student vandalized a popular site for rock climbing in Idaho to ask a girl named Destiny out.

The site, in the Black Cliffs area outside of Boise, is considered a paradise for climbers and a holy site for Native Americans.

For a high school student, it seemed like a good way to get a prom date. He wrote on the cliff "Destiny prom?"

Climbers in the area told investigators they saw the message on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, the student, if caught, could face charges for up to six months in prison and a fine of $1,000, in addition to the cost of the cleanup.

According to the Idaho Statesman, the cleanup will be expensive and difficult, as the cliff is not easily reachable. For now the sheriff's office hasn't decided yet how the paint will be removed.
