When we walk with the Lord - Chris Lawton at Fletcher Memorial Methodist Church, Madeley

Me playing the organ at Fletcher Memorial Methodist Church near Telford, Shropshire. This is one of 2 instruments in the church - the other being a 2 manual Nicholson and Lord pipe organ.

The organ was built in the mid 1960s by the John Compton Organ Company Ltd and is the popular CH2 model. As well as having internal speakers, their is also an external speaker cabinet. The organ was originally built for the local congregational (later United Reformed Church) and came here in the early 1980s upon closure of that church.

For this first video I am playing the hymn 'When we walk with the Lord' to the tune 'Trust and Obey' which makes use of the main sounds on this instrument for accompanying congregational hymn singing.

Many thanks to the church officials for allowing me to play this wonderful Compton organ.

NOTE: this is purely my interest in order to make sure that these fine organs are archived forever and I do not make any monetary profit by this video being on dailymotion.

REQUEST: I am always on the lookout for Compton organs to play - particularly electrones - so if you know of any churches which still have these then please do let me know. I will happily give a donation or pay any applicable room hire charge.
