Awake, awake to love and work - Chris Lawton at Chilvers Coton Methodist Church, Nuneaton

Me playing the organ at 'The Cube' community centre in Nuneaton which was formerly Chilvers Coton Methodist Church.

The organ was built and installed at the church sometime during the 1950s and is the 'Miniatura A' model with 2 ranks of pipes - Diapason and Gedeckt. The specification reads:

PEDAL
Bourdon 16'
Flute 16'
Great to Pedal
Swell to Pedal

GREAT
Bourdon 16'
Open Diapason 8'
Rohr Gedeckt 8'
Principal 4'
Fifteenth 2'

SWELL
Open Diapason 8'
Rohr Gedeckt 8'
Flute 4'
Piccolo 2'

ACCESSORIES
Balanced expression pedal to whole organ
Voltmeter

For this first video I am playing the hymn 'Awake, awake to love and work' to the tune 'Sheltered Dale'. I was amazed at how well the organ sounded and functioned given that it hadnt been played for at least 4 years!!!

Many thanks to the centre committee for allowing me access to this fine little Compton organ.
