Christ, whose glory fills the skies - Chris Lawton at New Eltham Methodist Church, London

Me playing the organ at New Eltham Methodist Church, London - part of my 'summer in the city 2012' organ crawl of London celebrating youtube, my youtube channel and the John Compton Organ Company Ltd.

The organ here has a fascinating history. It is made up of pipework originally on the Compton cinema organ at the Odeon, Winchester which was opened there in 1934 and was a 3 manual instrument with 9 ranks of pipes . In 1961 the organ was installed here by Compton's who used the most appropriate pipework (Diapason, Flute, Salicional and Trumpet) and a new console - in essence a 'series 4' model. The pipework is fully enclosed in true Compton fashion in a chamber at the front of the church on the left and speaking into the communion area. The specification reads:

NOTE: this is purely my interest in order to make sure that these fine organs are archived forever and I do not make any monetary profit by this video being on dailymotion.
