Be thou my vision - Chris Lawton at the Heritage Centre, Hove, Brighton

Me playing the organ at the Heritage Centre in Hove near Brighton, West Sussex which was formerly a church but now in use as a multi-purpose centre.

The organ was installed by the John Compton Organ Company Ltd in the late 1960s to replace a failing pipe instrument and is the popular 357 model. The organ was given a complete restoration in 2005 following a break-in which saw the loudspeaker cabinet and some valves stolen.

Im playing the hymn 'Be thou my vision' to the well known hymn tune 'Slane' and is ideal for showing off the main sounds of the organ which would be used to accompany congregational hymn singing.

Many thanks to the volunteers here for allowing me access to this fine Compton organ.

NOTE: this is purely my interest in order to make sure that these fine organs are archived forever and I do not make any monetary profit by this video being on dailymotion.
