Another of me playing the wonderful 2 manual 6 rank Wurlitzer organ at the Theatre Organ Heritage Centre in Peel Green, Manchester.
As well as various percussion instruments, cinema organs were equipped with effects to accompany silent movies like sirens, bird whistles, horse hooves etc. One such effect was the "door bell" and I make use of this and also the Bass Drum in the theme tune from the childrens television theme tune - "Postman Pat"!!!
For me, this is what the theatre organ is all about - fun, unusual, exciting - a real musical box of tricks!
