A Florida mom is arrested after she allegedly left her baby in the car while stealing cheese from a grocery store.

A Florida mom has been charged with child neglect. 31-year-old Anna Alvarez allegedly left her 5-month-old baby in the car, while she went into a supermarket to steal cheese.

She reportedly placed three packages of cheese into her handbag. Store employees witnessed the act and called police, who questioned her on the scene.

Officers were going to let Alvarez go until she told them that her infant was still in her vehicle. Police made their way towards the car and noticed the child screaming. The police report stated that the baby “appeared to be physically upset and cold, due to the fact the child had no blanket and the temperature was decreasing”.

Alvarez was arrested and the baby is now with the father.

In late September, another sad report surfaced. A young boy, about 2 years of age, was found alone at a park in New Orleans. A good Samaritan contacted police.
The child's mother, 39-year-old Sherry Lee reportedly admitted to leaving her child alone at the park and had no plans of returning. She was arrested and charged with child desertion.
