Now let us see thy beauty, Lord - Chris Lawton at St Matthias Church, Colindale, London

Me playing the organ at St Matthias Church in Colindale, London.

The organ was built by the famous John Compton Organ Company Ltd probably during the 1950s for the previous church and then moved here when the present church was built in 1975. The organ is the 'Miniatura' model consisting of 2 ranks of pipes - Diapason and Rohr Gedeckt. The specification reads:

PEDAL
Bourdon 16'
Flute 8'
Great to Pedal
Solo to Pedal

GREAT
Bourdon 16'
Open Diapason 8'
Rohr Gedackt 8'
Principal 4'
Fifteenth 2'

SOLO
Open Diapason 8'
Rohr Gedackt 8'
Flute 4'
Piccolo 2'

For this first video im playing the hymn 'Now let us see thy beauty, Lord' to the tune 'Edgware'. I decided to choose this hymn tune as the local tube station - Colindale - is on the Edgware branch of London undergrounds northern line!

Many thanks to Fathers John and Simon for allowing me access to this fine Compton organ.

NOTE: this is purely my interest in order to make sure that these fine organs are archived forever and I do not make any monetary profit by this video being on dailymotion.
