Wales headlines 6 March: Covid ‘not top priority’ in early 2020

NHS Wales’ former chief Andrew Goodall said that covid was not a top priority early in 2020. Speaking to the ongoing covid inquiry, he said the first case was found in Wales on February 28th was a trigger for action. He said in hindsight, more should have been done sooner to prepare for the virus.

The Senedd has voted in favour of keeping a controversial new voting system set to come into place in the next elections. The change means votes will be for parties rather than candidates in a bid to make the system easier for voters. Opposition said it felt like a back room deal between Plaid Cymru and Labour.

For all the Swifties out there, Cardiff will be the cheapest city in the UK to go and see Taylor Swift’s Era’s tour when she comes to the city in June. Research from Jeff Bet found that the average stay in the city, including meals, accommodation and travel would cost roughly £89 a night, with London the most expensive at £135.
