Wales headlines 22 February: Vaughn Gething takes £200,000 campaign donation from illegal waste dumper
  • 2 months ago
Welsh Labour leader hopeful Vaughn Gething has been found to have taken campaign payments from a man twice convicted of environmental breaches. The economy minister who is up for the role as first minister against Jeremy Miles received 200 thousand pounds from David Neal who illegally dumped waste on a conservation site.

The ongoing row over new farming regulations in Wales has seen farmers storm the site of a college the first Minister was opening. Around 200 farmers were pushing and shoving at the site in protest of new rules that force farmers to use 10 percent of their land to plant trees if they want to receive welsh government subsidies.

In rugby, Wales’ summer match against South Africa is set to take place in Twickenham due to a clash with Taylor Swifts show at the Principality Stadium on the same day. Wales will be the away team for the match, which will be a warm up for a two-game series against Australia in Melbourne and Sydney.
