A Welsh fire service found to have a toxic culture of bullying and misogyny will be taken over by the Welsh government. South Wales Fire and rescue will have a commissioner appointed by the Welsh government, with one minister saying that without action in the service, lives would be put at risk.

Every head teacher across Conwy has signed a letter condemning a decision by the council to cut schools budgets. The council have a 25 million pound budget gap and say they had no choice. Educators argue that the most vulnerable children need additional support and would suffer the most.

The UK government are being taken to court by campaigners who argue they are not properly enforcing a law that preventing river pollution. The River Wye, which runs between Wales and England has been found to have chicken manure, despite being home to rare wildlife like the endangered Atlantic salmon.
